Apartments for sale in Carnegie Hill

Carnegie Hill

The neighborhood is named for the mansion that steel magnate Andrew Carnegie built on Fifth Avenue and 91st Street in 1901. Carnegie Hill stretches from 79th to 98th Streets, between Fifth Avenue and Third Avenue. For many New Yorkers with families, this is the city’s preferred and most prestigious residential neighborhood. Major museums form the “Museum Mile” and prestigious schools abound, not to mention its proximity to Central Park. But what really draws people to this area is the large supply of sizable apartments, mostly in pre-war buildings along its avenues and cross streets. Madison Avenue offers several high-end stores, friendly brunch restaurants and children’s clothing boutiques.
